After three very successful years EFDPA has become a truly international event and a permanent fixture on the dance event calendar.
Over 2500 guests have experienced the magic of Disneyland Paris whilst enjoying the activity they love, representatives from countries as far afield as Russia, Cyprus, Canada, USA, Israel, Holland, Belgium, Spain and Ireland have joined many participants from the United Kingdom.
The event was held at the Disney Village in a massive triple ‘Dome’ structure. The dome was originally built to accommodate Circ De Soleil so I guess you can imagine just how big it had to be..!
A great venue and performers were in their element obviously enjoying every flicker of limelight from a proud and appreciative audience.
As you would expect from Disney everything was very professional run, stage managed with an amazing sound system and lighting effects, (real pain to photograph though)...
A full array of different dance styles from Street, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Bollywood and even Jazz. Both solo and group events in just about every discipline so a very busy schedule for both performers and judges, (not to mention organisers and a very hard working DE Photo team)...!
In addition there was a high quality signing and talent competition. All age groups accommodated in every discipline from barely walking to seasoned adults. We had some Disney characters during the opening ceremony, (Mickey, Minnie and Pluto).
On Sunday I covered a Parade of all the dancers in the Magic Kingdom, not easy as it was both wet, windy, cold and obviously very busy. This is a highlight for all attending dancers and performers, very few will ever get the opportunity of having everything on Disneyland’s ‘High Street’ stopped just for them to perform...!
